Network Engineer and Trainer

Brook Schofield joins the NSRC after more than two decades focused on identity and wireless in the research & education community.

Recently working on Asi@Connect projects to bring IPv6, eduroam and Identity Federation services to the NRENs of the APAN community.

As the Secretary of the Global eduroam Governance Committee and Chair of the eduGAIN Steering Group from their formation until 2020 he grew these important services outside of Europe especially in Latin America, Africa and the Asia Pacific.

Brook graduated from the University of Tasmania, worked for the first state-wide Internet Service Provider in Tasmania, then a variety of universities in Australia and with NRENs in the UK, Europe and around the globe while working with TERENA → GÉANT.

He’s now based in his home state of Tasmania in Australia with his 3 cats.
