From: Peter Casier To: Multiple recipients of list AFRIK-IT Date: Wed, 12 Jun 1996 08:25:21 +0000 > Is there any other initiatives elsewhere in Africa? WFP is setting up a POP3 server in Kampala, giving full internet access through our NTserver here. We have a full time 19.2K link via Starcom to internet. The country offices through the Rwanda/Burundi region will be able to phone in (local phone) and get full internet. Unfortunately, this will be limited to WFP only. On the other hand, we are about to implement Email connectivity for about 30 field offices and our implementing partners (NGOs) gatewaying HF Email to internet. The HF architecture is based on Codan radios and Codan 9002 high speed (2400 bd) modems.
