From: Peter Rogers To: Multiple recipients of list DEVEL-L Date: Sat, 22 Aug 1992 11:10:28 EDT I am writing this on behalf of Charles Musisi (internet: cmusisi@mukla.gn.apc.org) of Makerere University in Uganda. He is the sysop for the Mukla FidoNet node there, which is the sole e-mail link to and from Uganda. They are trying hard to develop e-mail and other network links at Makerere but the cost of long distance phone calls is a serious problem. The Mukla node currently utilizes a 2400 baud modem. Mr. Musisi has asked me if it would be possible to locate a faster modem, in the 9600 range, which would greatly reduce his phone bill and increase his effectiveness. If anyone has such an item or knows how the folks at Makerere might be able to secure one for little or no cost, please send a response to myself and/or Mr. Musisi.
