A recent development has been the creation of a five year development plan for Intercom/Ecuanex. With the help of a Canadian expert in telecommunications we now have an instrument which should help us to expand our user base, improve current services being offered, and offer new services. We are coordinating closely with a number of universities in an effort to have local campus LAN's connected in a WAN through Ecuanex. New conferences are being added through our affiliation with APC and local users are also becoming more active in hosting conferences and using information servers to create access to their data bases. We have given the Pacific Bank's Ecuanet a written proposal for a direct and interactive Internet connection through them and are now awaiting a response. They have promised one within 15 days. We hope to develop a mutually benefitting working relationship with them, however if they insist on their original terms in a written proposal submitted to us then we have alternatives for a connection. Our user base continues to grow steadily and the potential is inmense. Traffic grows exponetially monthly.
