Network Engineer and Trainer

Sunday is an Instructor with the Network Startup Resource Centre (NSRC). He led the team of Engineers in GDES/SKANNET, where he is the Managing Director, to deliver the first set of Email and Internet connectivity to Nigeria in the mid 90s, using the UUCP protocol and thereafter, the Internet protocol. He is very fortunate to have installed Slackware Linux 1.0 off a 3.5” floppy diskette.

Sunday holds a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and a Certificate in GIS systems from ESRI in Redlands, California USA.

He was one of the pioneer participants at the annual AfNOG workshops in 2000 and has been volunteering as an Instructor every year, thereafter. He is the co-convenor of annual ngNOG Training and workshop modelled after the AfNOG events, which has been training Network Engineers in Nigeria since 2006.

A Certified National Trainer of the Junior Chamber International, Sunday effectively uses a mixture of anecdotes and humour to keep participants active and awake in his training sessions. He is President of the ISPs Association of Nigeria, Vice President of NIRA, the .ng Registry and also sits on the Board of the Nigeria Internet Exchange Point (NIXP).
