NSRC - LACNIC Network Monitoring and Management Workshop

This workshop is designed for engineers and system staffs at academic networks who are involved with system management, network monitoring and management and problem response. The course is for those who need to manage diverse Network and NOC operations. The workshop consists of approximately 40% lecture and 60% hands-on labs. Students are requested to bring a laptop to the workshop if they have one.

Workshop Goals

  • Train network engineering staff from universities in Haiti on how to monitor and manage campus networks
  • Strengthen the human network of the research and education community in developing national and regional cyberinfrastructure

Requirements

  • Bring a laptop to the workshop if you have one available
  • Some Linux/UNIX experience
  • Basic Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols

Recommended Software

  • PuTTY for Windows (SSH)
  • Linux/UNIX and Mac OS already have SSH installed. DO NOT USE PUTTY FOR LINUX OR MAC!
