# Indoor Site Survey
The goals of this exercise are:
- Manually collect data on radio spectrum inside a building
- Save the data on a map for later use in deployment planning
## Survey Details
The RMI Campus IT building will be used for this survey.
For each room:
- A complete WiFi scan in 2.4 and 5 GHz should be performed in every room.
- In large rooms, multiple scans should be made.
- Record its layout, walls, and construction material
– Are there any special attenuation, reflection, diffraction opportunities?
- Are there places we can or cannot mount access points?
- How many people will the room hold?
- Where can interference come from? Are there adjacent rooms? Windows onto crowded streets?
- Can we mount access points on the ceiling? On walls? Take photos for documentation!
- Where is the cabling? Take photos! Does it support gigabit Ethernet?
- Is the wired infrastructure managed? Does it support VLANs?
- Can the wired infrastructure be tampered with?
- Is it easy to access? Can an interception device be added to a path?
- How will units be powered?
- Are there power outlets? Will there be PoE?
- Will units be safe from being disconnected or stolen?
## Dividing the Work
Groups should decide together an identifier for each room, and who will visit for a survey.

## Survey Results
Add your survey results to the Google Doc here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1y87Qq-FXF-3BWWnDGkgZGH3kAwGObLy-2XaLSwG-XkI/edit?usp=sharing
A separate section should be created for every room surveyed.
