# Unifi Tuning
The goal of this exercise is to explore the Unifi controller interface and learn how to change settings to tune a Wi-Fi network.
## Tasks
- In Settings / Services, Enable Advanced Settings
- In Services, enable SNMP v1/v2c and set the community string to "nsrc"
- Through the Device Menu, for each access point
- Lower the power of both 2.4 & 5 GHz radios
- Set a Location and Contact in Services/SNMP
- Prefer 5G in Band Steering
- In the Faculty Network, under 802.11 Rate & Beacon Controls
- Set 2g Data Rate Control to 18 Mbps
- Set 5g Data Rate Control to 18 Mbps
- For your Guest Network, set hours of operation to 8 am through 6 pm
## Bonus Task
- Enable Email alerts for your Wi-Fi network
- You will need to install Postfix on your Linux instance for this to work
