## Workshop ##
* [Detailed Workshop Agenda](agenda.html) (includes links to presentations and schedule) * [Participants](participants.html) * [Instructors](instructors.html) * [Reference Materials](references.html) * [Sponsors](sponsors.html) * [Workshop Survey](https://survey.nsrc.org/index.php/332275?lang=en) * [NSRC on Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/nsrc.org) * [NSRC training videos](https://learn.nsrc.org) ## Goals / objectives ## This five-day training course teaches the skills required for the configuration of scalable and secure routing, as well as best practice operation of the networks making up today's Internet. Participants in this course will learn more about: * IS-IS design and best practices for Service Provider networks * BGP Protocol, Attributes and Policy * BGP Route Reflectors * BGP Best Practices, including Aggregation * BGP Multihoming techniques (redundancy and load balancing) * BGP Communities as used by Network Operators * BGP Security Operations Best Practices * Remote Trigger Black Hole Filtering * Unicast Reverse Path Forwarding ## Pre-requisites ## Workshop participants must be proficient with a router command line interface, have a good understanding of OSPF or IS-IS, as well as experience with using BGP in an operational network. **This workshop is not an introduction.** The lab exercises use Cisco IOS configuration syntax. Participants laptops/PCs must have: * a modern web browser installed (Chrome/Firefox/Safari/Opera) * the latest Zoom client installed (at least version 5.4.9) as the online workshop will be using Zoom for all tuition and participation work, and accessing the virtual lab through a web browser. **NB** Participants must only use the native Zoom client to access this training course. Other methods are not supported and will likely not work. Participants must also have reviewed the Video Tutorials at [learn.nsrc.org](https://learn.nsrc.org/bgp), specifically those covering: * [Internet Routing](https://learn.nsrc.org/bgp/internet_routing) * [Routing Protocols](https://learn.nsrc.org/bgp/routing_protocols) * All the IS-IS clips, starting from [IS-IS Introduction](https://learn.nsrc.org/bgp/is-is) and participated in the [Securing Internet Routing with RPKI](https://wiki.apnictraining.net/rpki20210201-apan51) course offered by APNIC at [APAN51](https://apan51.apan.net/program/).
