Objectives
- Learn to implement best practices in network monitoring and management of campus networks using open source software
- Strengthen the cybersecurity (host and network level) skills of the participants
- Learn to setup a Network Operations Center (NOC)
Overview: this workshop is tailored for engineers and system staffs at ISPs and large networks including academic networks. The course is for those who need to learn the tools and best practices around network management, monitoring, reporting, communication, through the use of open tools and standards. Please review the Agenda to see the topics to be covered. Labs constitute about 60% of the course.

Requirements
- A laptop with wireless capability, or failing that, ethernet
- IPv4 addressing and general network concepts
- Some knowledge of UNIX and/or Linux.
Recommended Software
- PuTTY SSH client for Windows (SSH - Linux, UNIX (Mac OS) already have SSH installed)
