RwEdNet Campus Network Design Workshop

Dates: 9th - 13th March 2015

This RwEdNet's first workshop hosted by the University of Rwanda. It covers basics in configuring cisco equipment, principles of design, as well as a method by which the students can practice further at home.

Workshop Goals

  • Students will be able to install GNS3

  • Students will be able to add Cisco IOS images to GNS3 including calculation of useful idlepc values.

  • Students will be able to perform basic configuration of Cisco routers.

  • Students will be able to deploy VLAN configuration.

  • Students will be able to use dynamic routing in networks.

  • Students will be able to design a network for a University campus following current best design guidelines.

  • Students will be able to document their networks.

Requirements

  • A laptop with working wifi connection
  • Knowledge of basic networking fundamentals
