Network Engineer and Trainer

Khoudia Gueye obtained a Masters Degree in Mathematics (Numerical Analysis) in 1999 from University Gaston BERGER of Saint Louis (UGB). In 2001, she obtained a Masters Degree in Computer Science and Telecommunications from the Ecole Supérieure Multinationale des Télécommuications (ESMT). She currently works at the University Cheikh Anta DIOP of Dakar (UCAD) as the head of the Security, Systems and Networks Division. Khoudia Gueye is Cisco CCNA certified since 2006 and is a CCNA trainer at the CISCO Regional Academy at UCAD. Before joining UCAD in 2007, she worked for the Senegalese Electricity company from 2002 to 2007 where she helped to build and maintain the national WAN with more than 30 sites.

With more than 12 years of experience in network engineering assistance, she designed the new campus network of UCAD, and is an active member of the Senegalese NREN (snRER) technical task force. She, also, helps to manage the .sn ccTLD with the Senegalese Registry (NIC Senegal) and worked in partnership with the NSRC and ICANN to set up an L-Root server in Senegal during the ICANN 42 meeting held in DAKAR in October 2011.

Khoudia Gueye is very interested in Internet development and has participated in many meetings as a felllow (ICANN, IETF, AfNOG, AfTLD, RIPE NCC, etc.) and is an ISOC Next Generation Leader. Her areas of interest are IPv6, DNS, Wireless and Routing. In 2012 Khoudia SY joined the NSRC team and has taught courses on DNS, Linux System Administration, BGP routing , Network Monitoring and Management for many NRENs, ccTLDs around Africa and during AfNOG meetings. She's also an instructor for ISOC through the AXIS project.

She recently founded the SenChix association, which aims to improve Senegalese women's live using ICT tools and technologies, and to engage more women and girls to develop expertise in computer science, networking and software development.
