Mike Jager

Network Engineer and Trainer
Network engineer, Mike Jager has been working with Internet-connected networks in one way or another for 15 years. He is an experienced Senior Network Engineer, with a broad range of additional skills including systems administration, information security, consulting, and training.
Based in New Zealand, currently works as an independent consulting engineer. In this role, he provides strategic, architectural, and design advice, as well as training, and hands-on engineering and operational assistance for organisations both in New Zealand and abroad. He has previously held senior engineering positions in both hosting and access providers.
Mike regularly attends industry conferences in the APAC region. He has previously presented at APRICOT, APNIC, NZNOG, and Kiwicon conferences on the topic of Internet exchange point security. He is a member of the APIA board, and assists with the organisation of APRICOT events.
With NSRC, Mike delivers workshops for engineering and operational staff on topics such as network management and monitoring, wireless technologies, and network design.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems Engineering) awarded with Honours from The University of Auckland.
