DTS is a Windows based system that supports e-mail fax and file transfers via HF or VHF/UHF radio. Our product includes Internet gateways using the SMTP/POP3 protocols (on dial up or direct connections) as well as a MS-mail/Exchange and Fax-modem gateway. The MS-mail gateway allows interfaces to virtually any mail system on the market. Fax pages are passed to a Fax modem or sent via the MS-mail fax driver. DTS includes its own software based ALE system that supports a large variety of transceivers and does not require expensive ALE equipped radios. All radio and link procedures are automated and no radio operator or skilled technician is required. To the user the system looks like a normal e-mail program and all the details of the radio data transfers are automated und under software control. All data is transfered encrypted using DES standards. DTS's large success is based on is advanced data compression and protocol technology. Instead of attempting to use unsuitable protocols such as TCP/IP over low bandwidth, half duplex radio channels, DTS applies its own highly optimized data compression, encryption and protocols across the radio link. Full page Fax services are supported thanks to our own fax compression technology (Patent Pending) that reduces a Fax page image to less than 10kb of data. This technology allows DTS to be extremely efficient and fast. DTS is widely used by relief agencies and NGOs throughout Africa and Asia. Codan and Barrett recently licensed our application as OEM products (Barrett system 550, Codan part number "78-13004 Modem Control S/W DTS.") Our company also operates an Internet HF radio server out of Cotonou/Benin that provides wireless access to the Internet (mail and file transfers) to a large number of customers in Central and East Africa. DTS supports the HAL HF modems that run up to 3000 bps as well as the Codan 9001/2 HF modems. A version for packet controllers will be available shortly.
