Let me fill you in. As Tom stated, the company I work for, Internet (Bermuda) Limited, has teamed up with UUNET in the US to bring Bermuda and other countries in the Carribean onto the Internet. I am the person responsible for the operations side of the IBL's systems throughout the Carribean. IBL has been operational as a live network as of the end of September and we are taking on customers in four areas : 1) dialup shell accounts 2) dialup PPP/SLIP accounts 3) low speed 19.2Kbps leased line connections 4) high speed 56Kbps leased line connections At the moment, IBL has one 56Kbps connection to UUNET in Virginia and will be upgrading that line to T1 in January. We offer full Internet services including : 1) local USENET News feeds 2) primary domain server for .BM 3) secondary domain server for ???.BM 4) POP Server for local companies 5) local FTP Server 6) local information services such as WWW, X.500, Gopher servers etc. 7) full Internet training in association with the Bermuda College At this time, I have no plans for implementing UUCP connections since there is no demand for it here. Also, we have not made great efforts to have it known that we are here as I am putting the finishing touches on my WWW server. When I have completed this, I will be sending out the appropriate news releases over the net to the appropriate people. I hope this is what you are looking for.
