It is a 9600 baud line. Since October this year (after a law was passed on the deregulation of Telecomsin Botswana), Botswana Telecommunication begun providing 64K leased lines to private operators for data communications. We have one ISP operating already called "Info Botswana" - I have copied this request to them requesting them to provide you with the details so you can have a complete picture of what's happening out here. There are a lot more ISP who have not yet taken off but are said to be coming on the market. I will give you more details once they are operational. SADC has a project to enhance regional networking with the aim of enhancing information exchange, facilitate market information flow for trade, promote democracy etc. Generally to integrate the economies of the region - what better way than integrated infomation systems and flows!
