The Cook Islands internet connectivity is via satellite to New Zealand and Canada. The Canada connection is via Teleglobe and is 2mb/s downstream / 512k upstream assymetrical curcuit. It is the primary route for all internet traffic to/from the Cook islands. The New Zealand connection is via a Frame Relay with UUNET and is 128k and is used soley for redundancy in case of failure of the primary curcuit. > 2) Please list all of the ISPs currently operating in the country. There are currently no other ISP's in the Cook Islands. > 3) What do you see as the prospects for Internet growth in Cook Islands; > what would help it, and what are currently the major obstacles? Cost of Internet remains high as satellite connectivity is the only means of communication to the Cook Islands. Satellite charges to the Pacific region are costly. "Robert McFadzien"
