Develop / Test internet access solution for remote islands to utilise proposed Frame Relay service Aug 03 Commenced deployment of internet access in conjunction with National Network upgrade Sept 03 Remote islands Internet deployment completed. Oct 03 ISP Mail service receives major hardware upgrades - faster performance, free virus scanning + additional spam filtering Dec 03 With launch of GSM cellular network value added services added: SMS 2 Email Free Email 2 SMS Jan 04 ISP Outbound Bandwidth capacity doubled - increase from 512k to 1024k. Feb 04 Start deployment of internet PC's to all remote islands for public use (Type of Telecenter) CyberCafe at Telecom Cook Islands headquarters upgraded with prepaid access and 24hr access. Mar 04 Additional 56k access added to ISP dialup services May 04 Web hosting platform upgraded for future customer requirements. Jun 04 Further deployment of internet enabled PC's in remote islands ISP webmail replaced - added functionality - more speed ! Aug 04 Negotiations for additional satellite bandwidth underway. Sep 04 Redevelopment of ISP portal website underway Oct 04 Launch of ISP portal website success - added functionality and services Dec 04 Additional satellite bandwidth to be commissioned. 2005 - on the way!
