Bohn 2. How to subscribe to a list ----------------------------- Most of the mailing lists mentioned above are maintained by a program named "LISTSERV". To subscribe to one of those lists you have to send e-mail to the "Server:" address of the list (NOT the "List:" address!!!). Note that the "Subject:" line provided by some mailers MUST be left empty! The body of your e-mail must only contain the string in quotation marks given in the "Subscription:" section, (without the quotation marks!). Replace "" with your name (not your e-mail address!). The body of your message should only contain this line. Anything else might confuse LISTSERV. After you have sent your message to LISTSERV you will receive a message about whether you have been accepted as a member of the mailing list. Usually you will also get further information about LISTSERV, e.g. how to get more information about the list and its members and how to un- subscribe. 3. How to send articles to a list --------------------------------- Send your own articles to the "List:" address of the list in question (NOT the "Server:" address!!!). If the list is moderated, the moderators will decide whether to include your article in the next posting of the list. If it is not moderated, your article will be directly distributed to all subscribers via e-mail. -- Hartmut Bohn, M.A. ,'|_____, / ---, | Computerlinguistik / Sinologie Walramsneustr.
