At these conferences, concern has been expressed over the management and promotion of R & D activities and the development of more effective exchange and cooperation links among institutions. The Organizers of CIMAF '97 have therefore decided to provide for such an exchange of ideas by convening a meeting on: New paradigms in R & D management: treatment of human resources and their motivation; creativity and change; current and future roles of leadership; strategic planning as a management tool; role of information. Marketing in science, research and development: its role and place; costs and added value in R & D product pricing; effective combination of self-financing and State subsidies. External environment in R & D: the macroeconomic environment as a conditioning factor in re-stating aims, goals and methods in R & D management; new trends in international cooperation. Problems related to complex problem analysis and regional planning. The Meeting is open to specialists from R & D institutions, universities, companies and other entities related to the national scientific and technological innovation systems from interested countries.
