We are also the Internet access provider on the island. Internet access is only a recent occurrence here in Dominica. Prior to 1995, all access to the net was via long distance dialup to Puerto Rico, the mainland USA or elsewhere. In 1995 Antigua set up an Internet access service which TOD resold, allowing users to access Antigua's service via a local number. In March of 1996 we commisioned a site, from a Canadian ISP solutions provider and went live on April 15, 1996. We have some ideas of how we may use the technology, but these are only ideas. For example we would like to have the our educational institutions on line, so that the students may have full access. Bannisp@tod.dm
