From: sghuter@psg.com (Steven Huter) To: randy@psg.com Date: Fri, 16 Dec 94 18:16 PST Dear Steve, Currently we are developing an Academic Network that operates as a Dial-Up Node which links the majority of the Universities of the Dominican Republic. In total we have 25 Universities and some research centers involved in our development. We have firm proposals to communicate with the Internet now that there is good communications infrastructure in the country. In total we have 102 registered users that represent important sectors of the academic life in our universities. Our efforts are dedicated to getting people interested in, training, and offering new alternatives with the use of electronic communication. What could your organization suggest to interest more users? The level of actual communication is very limited in terms of what is required for facilitating research and academic life. For this reason we are in communication with CUNet and the Organization of American States with hopes of improving our project. We have the relations of our users to offer if you and others are interested. We have great interest in improving our communications and participating in frank conversations about installing an Internet Node. With our deferences, sending you greetings, Flavio Moncion Red Universitaria Dominicana Academica y Cientifica (RUDAC)
