From: "Michael D. Setzer II" To: sghuter@nsrc.org Date: Mon, 23 Dec 1996 10:43:48 +1000 This is concerning the setup at Guam Community College, specifically from the Computer Center. Linette.guam.net is a UnixWare machine that is connected to the Internet via a Cabletron NBR-620 that connects via a fiber link to our admin, and then connects to a Telbit Netblaser Version 3.05, and then connects to a local ISP (Kuentos.guam.net) via a 28.8 modem. Linette.guam.net is 202.128.0.7, and has 202.128.1.x subnetted across two additional ethernet cards providing servers to two computer labs. The router at admin (Terakito.guam.net) is 202.128.0.1, and the admin unix (SCO) is 202.128.0.3. Most of the admin machines are connected directly to the backbone. In addtion to linette.guam.net, which has been running for a couple years, I have just setup a Novell 4.1 server that is to replace our older Novell 2.2 servers. It is configured at address 202.128.0.7, and is running TCP/IP and provides Email support via the Mercury NLMs and Pegasus Mail Client. Have also been running a UUCP connection with the same ISP for about 4 years at address gcccc.guam.net. (Michael@gcccc.guam.net). This is a UUCP connection between my 2.2 lans and kuentos via a 28.8 modem. > 2) A brief technical description of the equipment/platform you are using > for your servers, routers, etc. My Office Currently has 3 Novell Servers, two Novell Netware 2.2 100 user servers, and a Novell 4.11 256 user server that is in testing. Additionally, Linette is my personel UnixWare machine. All machines are currently running on 486 machines. The Novell 2.2 are running with 12MB on 66Mhz machines, and the 4.11 is running on a 486 80Mhz with 64MB ram and duplexed SCSI 1GB drives. The UnixWare machine is also a 66Mhz 486 with 20MB Ram. > 3) Information about your pricing/costs of using your network. This is part of Guam Community College, and no cost are involved to the students other than the lab fees. Our ISP does charge the college for the connection. If you require any additional information, please feel happy to drop me a note. +----------------------------------------------------------+ Michael D.
