In May 2000, this will be upgraded to 45MBs (T3) when Cable & Wireless take advantage of the "Miya 1" (Sp?) Fibre Optic link. > 2) Would you happen to know who the main ISPs are and what levels of > service they offer - email only, web browsing etc. ? Cable & Wirelsss have a monopoly on Internet Access service. There are many local companies offering web design & hosting, although few of them have servers in Cayman as the cost of full-time connections to the Internet are prohibitively high. > 3) What is the current state of Internet connectivity today ? The Access services are high when compared with North American standards. Cable & Wireless are evaluating other technologies (such as xDSL), but there are no implementation dates or promises that such services might come.
