It was opened on the 20th Aug, funded by SIDA consisting of CISCO router at each ISP (6: STEA, ETL, LIS, LTC, KPL and Planet, connected to LIX (VTIX) via 2 Mbps optic fibers. ref. http://www.laonix.net.la/ Fiber of 20 kms @ $64000. 7 technical staff are being rotate through KTH in Sweden to learn about IX.
