Huter , Randy Bush , Brian Candler Subject: Quick Update on LINGO Net - Liberia Steve, Randy, and Brian, Our Internet cafe is up and running. We currently have four cafe machines (although one is borrowed) and a file server, all running Linux Red Hat. (At the moment we also have two iMacs that I'm doing some training on - but the cafe looks pretty good right now.) Users log into any machine and have access to their home directory from the server. We also have a print server setup on the file server. Laptop users can connect using their own, or our PCMCIA NIC. We have Star Office installed so that people can use our machines as their office computers for word processing, spreadsheets, etc. We are also looking at starting training for the NGOs on Linux and in computer security in the next few months. Our other plan is to offer a network design and installation service to NGOs. Greg Greg Kintz
