E1(2mbps) TeleglobeCanada Chisinau DNT satelite 512kbps NetSat Express Chisinau Riscom fiber opt. 128kbps Ebone(Frankfurt) Chisinau Relsoft satelite 1mbps Taide Networks Chisinau MegaDat satelite 128kbps DeutscheTelekom Chisinau There are a few more ISPs (Moldpac, Moldsat and CRI) plus Riscom and Relsoft that buy links from Moldtelecom ranging from 128 to 256kbps. DNT peers with Riscom thus Moldtelecom acts as an unofficial inetrnet exchange point in Moldova. There are POPs in two more cities (Balti and Tiraspol) maintained two ISPs that buy their links from Moldpac. So I could say that the total raw international bandwidth to Moldova is about 4mbps at this moment. | What is the estimated number of Internet users in Moldova at | this time ? I would say there are about 3000 users that pay for their internet connection to ISPs. Then as you know DNT provides internet service to educational institutions and I could estimate the number of students that use internet one way or another at about 12,000 but the Internet awareness is growing rapidly so I guess this number will increase dramaticly in the next few years. Our 512k link has never been relaxed since it was set up and an upgrate wouldn't hurt at all. Please let me know if you need more detailed information. Sincerely, Slava.
