As you can see, AGANet is alive and kicking ! and it runs 24hrs-a-day, 7days-a-week. We are currently offering Internet email service to any Mauritian National who knows how to use it ! It is meant to promote the use of Electronic Communications in Mauritius. We are not very big but are happy that the service is gaining popularity by word- of-mouth. We don't have interactive internet access here since Mauritius is not yet connected to it. (Very sadly...) and we are doing everything that's in our possibilities to convince some people about its enormous potential. AGA stands for Ashraf(myself), Gilles and Altaf. The three persons who started AGANet. We connect to SANGONet/WorkNet in South-Africa for mail exchange via Fido (South-Africa NGO Network). AGANet is also incorporated locally for legal purposes (AGA ConneXion Ltd) since we are charging a fee for the email service. We are currently working on a project to set-up local Web Servers as a means to educate people about Webs etc..and create the need for Internet, the real thing !.
