Its coverage is country- wide with near 100% penetration. User connectivity available: Dial up, Wifi, DSL, 900Mhz Direct Link, 5ghz Direct Link. All services are free to the users of course. They have to provide their own computers and whatever equipment they need etc. Upstream Connectivity is 64K CIR 128K Burst to New Zealand Through Telecom Niue (to Telstra via Telecom New Zealand) plus a 256K CIR 5 meg Burst Receive link direct from California through NewSkies. The Frame Relay costs $10,000 NZ per month plus per meg charges of between $5-8,000 NZ per month on the New Zealand side. And the California link costs $1500 US per month with no per meg charges. Internet services are still free to all users in both private sector and government. We still have somewhere between 250-300 users which represents a near 100% penetration into the local community. Wifi services have been added as of 2003 and have continued to expand. Currently roughly 90% of the users are covered with wifi. All are covered with dial up services as well. DSL is available as is 900mhz link, and 5ghz link on special request. -- Regards, Richard St Clair, Co-Founder & Internet Evangelist, Internet Users Society Niue PICISOC Chairman, APTLD Board Member -------------------------------------------- stclair@niue.nu www.niue.nu Fax 683-4624 Niue Island, South Pacific 169 West 19 South --------------------------------------------
