We a have a full access connection using a sat-link with Sprint, connecting to the Internet in Washington D.C. Our bandwith is now at 64k but in few months we are planning to make an upgrade at 256 kbps.. We are developing the National Backbone in PAnama and right now we have domestics links to two of the nine provinces in the country, also we have connected 5 of the most largest universities in the country, high schools, elementary schools, reserach institutes etc. All metropolitan links are at 64 Kbps using leased lines. > 2) A brief technical description of the equipment/platform you are using > for your servers, routers, etc. In terms of equipment : Servers : we are using Sun systems running solaris 2.5, (DNS root) Routers : We are using for POP Cisco 7513, & 4500 for the end instituitions cisco 2501, 2509, 2511 etc > 3) Information about the pricing/costs of using your network. In panama a 64 Kb is very expensive it is about US $ 8,000. The cost of a Dial up user is about US $30.00 for 30 hours and a $1.00 for additional hour.
