Huter > > I also did all the technical installations in Rwanda > Could you provide a brief technical summary about the Rwanda install, and > current network ? 128Kb into Kigali. There are a few cisco's, 3640, 3620, 2511. There were two working Sun's - once even an Intel Linux box - but that was reloaded with Windows. The 128K carrier runs through to the USA along with the international phone lines via a Satellite link. There are about 32 - 48 modems on the Kigali node. Some are on US Robotics modem racks, others are individual units... Radius is in use. When I was last there - there were no customer home (web) pages... only some for Telkom (ONTP) themselves.. By now - there should be a link or two at 64K to some local sites - like the UNDP. There was an analogue line from Kigali to the University at Butare - we put in some mircocom Deskporte Fast modems - for a 4-wire line. At the University is a cabinet with three linux servers, a 2511 cisco and a bunch of analogue modems on the universities phone network. This may be a 64Kb line by now. I heard that the University had a VSAT link to some place - this could be to an international location....
