One of them is from Ankara to Washington DC, USA and the other is from Izmir (Ege Univ.) to Bonn, Germany. Both are 64 Kbps. As Ege University, we plan to upgrade the line to 512 Kbps at the begining of 1996. Meanwhile we have established a 64 Kbps triengular backbone between Izmir, Ankara and Istanbul. Other than this backbone most of the lines within the country are 19200 bps. A few of them are 9600 bps. The networking activies have started in 1987 in Turkey with the efforts of our University trying to get connected to EARN. Since then all these efforts are continued and now most of the universities have an ip connection and some have both ip and EARN connection.
