Most documents are produced in Turkish to help the majority of local users. Plans for the near future are to extend the number of documents for the local users, and prepare them like a book. User Guide The userguide contains basic help about all the servers on the network. The guide is both in Turkish and English. USER GROUP SUPPORT ACTIVITIES The network consists of two main groups. One is the administrative group and the second is the technical group. The technical group is responsible for user group support activities. Many technical user groups are established. These groups are given the support by the technical and the administrative groups. Many non-technical user groups are also formed. To get together, the groups meet twice a year. For novice users, courses are given. The user support people give courses either at the network office or at users' places. These courses are given mostly to the new users from various parts of the campus, high schools which are new to the network, or new nodes' admins to teach them network administration. Also on request courses are given to new network admins in foreign countries. TRAINING ACTIVITIES AND WORKSHOPS The user support staff of the campus are given courses at their places. Training personnel visit them in their offices and give them courses on administering the network technically. Later these people are invited to the network office to practice more. The user support staff of other universities (other city/country) visit the network support staff and are given a course on detailed network management with applications at the training office. These are provided with all kinds of written material. OTHER ACTIVITES The center is in the process of producing a book on network resources and this will cover most of the resources in all major networks and will be sub-divided according to professional needs. Also a survey among users is conducted to understand fully, the users' needs and expectations. A great deal of public relations exercises are carried out to make the users aware of most of the services.
