Tuvalu ISP is connected directly to the US through New Skies from September 2004 using Vsat. The upsteam link is a 128kbps with a downstream of 512kbps. Before that we connected through our Telecom uplink via Global Gateway in New Zealand with a 64kbps upstream and 128kbps downstream. >2) Please list the ISP(s) offering service in Tuvalu. If possible, >include the URLs and the name and email of a technical or administrative >contact. There is only one ISP running in the country providing services and is fully owned by the Govenment of Tuvalu under the ICT Department. We have 32 dial up lines for the public and some of the Government departments. Most of the Government Departments are all under one roof of the new Govenment Building and thats where we also operating from. We also provide wireless connectivity to some of the private sectors and bussinesses. contact: Pese Maatia Senior ISP Officer ICT Department Government of Tuvalu email: pese@tuvalu.tv contact: Opetaia Simati Ag Director ICT Department Government of Tuvalu. email: opet@tuvalu.tv >3) Please include examples of local scientific or medical projects >currently using the Internet in Tuvalu.
