At first, there was only full BITNET connection between Belgrade and Lintz in Austria. Then, because of the UN sanctions in 1992, the BITNET link was cut by Austrians, since it was regarded as 'scientific cooperation'. Thus, since June or July 1992. we haven't had a real full-time link with the rest of the world (neither BITNET nor Interet). For a while, a sort of uucp link was established to exchange e-mail through some semi-private channels. And finally, less than a year ago, *.yu domain was registered with the Internet authorities, and e-mail (only!) is being exchanged every day (every half an hour) for at least ten months now (using a Greek provider, as you can conclude from the header of this message). We are all awaiting full Internet link soon. Being only an 'informed' layman myself, I can't tell you any more details, but the above information is quite reliable.
