ICTP-NSRC Internet of Things Workshop

From March 16 through March 27, 2015, the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and the Network Startup Resource Center (NSRC) presented a Workshop on Scientific Applications for the Internet of Things (IoT). Vint Cerf, vice president and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google, addressed the participants with a pre-recorded video segment.

The NSRC and ICTP worked together along with the ITU to sponsor student travel, lodging, instructor time and logistics coordination. NSRC collaborators Sebastian Buettrich, Jon Brewer, Alvaro Vives and Steve Song joined ICTP staff and speakers from around the globe to train participants in a hands-on environment on technologies surrounding the "Internet of Things" (IoT). The workshop was held at the ICT facilities on the main campus in Trieste, Italy.
